Menor o igual a cuarenta
Atentos al arte de patear la lonchera. Olga Lozano, la jefa, le echó un par de pullas a Semana por su espectacular informe especial llamado «Los cuarenta menores de cuarenta». El informe pretendía dar cuenta de los personajes que tendrán en un futuro muy distante su lugar en la historia de Colombia. Para «sorpresa» nuestra —y de Olga—, todos los personajes ya tienen algún lugar en esta historia. Sobre eso habla Olga.
Lo más divertido es que en la introducción, Alejandro Santos dice que la razón de ser del informe es, más o menos, combatir el mito de la falta de líderes. Y justifica que se escojan menores de cuarenta porque ellos « han tenido el suficiente tiempo para descollar en cada una de sus actividades y son lo suficientemente jóvenes para esperar mucho más de ellos.»
Pues como complemento al artículo de Olga y sobre todo para demostrar la perfecta invalidez del argumento del señor Santos, muestro la siguiente sencilla estadística. Esta es la edad de los personajes reseñados:

Es decir, hay que felicitar a esos ocho personajes apenas menores de cuarenta años que representan el futuro del país. Muchas más felicitaciones a los dos colados que ya tienen cuarenta… porque el informe no decían que fueran «menores o iguales de cuarenta».
Hagamos las cosas más contundentes:

Es decir que entre mis coetáneos (Ómar Delgado y los hijos del señor presidente, por ejemplo), según la revista más importante de Colombia, apenas hay un tipo que algún día sacará la cara por este país. En cambio más de la mitad de los que tienen futuro ya hace unos diez años al menos están viviéndolo. Paradójico y al mismo tiempo paradigmático.
Igualmente representativo del pensamiento de la revista para leer y no para ojear es la procedencia de los tales líderes:

En efecto, según la revista de mayor circulación en Colombia, el cincuenta por ciento de las personas que algún día llevarán las riendas del país son políticos, cargos públicos o administrativos y empresarios. Se les anota que hablen de los representantes de las artes. Pero si se mira quiénes son (Shakira, Valeriano Lanchas, Franklin Aguirre, etc.) pues no es ninguna sorpresa. ¿No se les ocurrió hablar de deportistas? Por cierto, hay muchos deportistas de entre veintidós y veintisiete años.
Santos termina con estas palabras: «Todos los listados son por naturaleza antipáticos. Y este no pretende no serlo. ¿Cuántos deberían figurar en esta lista y no están? Cientos, miles. Pero a través de las caras de estos jóvenes —y no tan jóvenes— está empezando a construirse los cimientos de lo que va a ser la Colombia de los próximos 40 años.» Y uno se pregunta:
-¿Están empezando a construirse? Si a los treinta años están empezando a construir, con razón el país está como está, etc. Pero claro, es que esta gente ya está ahí hace rato y eso no tiene ningún mérito. Es un gran mérito, por ejemplo, ser nieto de Julio Mario Santodomingo.
-¿Semana quiere ser una revista «antipática»? Lo logra, con todo éxito, con este tipo de informes súper especiales y súper relevantes, como «¿Por qué vale la pena un país en paz (para los empresarios)?» o «Esta es la Colombia (en los sueños de los peñalosistas) de dentro de 25 años». No sólo es Semana una revista antipática sino, cómo no, vacía y tonta. Huy, qué gran secreto. ¡Ah! Pero ahora lo dicen de frente.

Evidentemente, la Colombia de los 40 “menores de 40″ refleja la colonia elitista colombiana……donde los protagionistas ya son protagonistas, pienso que este tipo de información la utilizan los charlatanes d elos programas de variedades de la televisión colombiana para hacer sus obvias opredicciones obre el futuro del país. 1. ¿No le parece que hay mucho abogado en ese listado?
2. ¿Por qué salió el tipo de La Pelota de Letras? Independientemente de que sea exitoso, y sin considerar al humorismo un arte menor, será que hace unos años en este listado debía salir Jeringa?
3. De acuerdo con la inclusión de Santiago Gamboa, pero creo que hay escritores, estos sí jóvenes, como Antonio García Ángel, que merecían la mención.
4. Todo listado es subjetivo y polémico, pero éste, además, es triste y algo patético.
